Antique Childs

Long Johns

O.k. these are just fabulous ..and such a rare find...you just don't find early clothing all that often anymore ..so when we saw this adorable pair of childs Long Johns ..we knew they were coming home with us !

These are a youth size and I'm guessing would have been for approx a 6 to 8 yr old.

They Button up the front and have a nice finished edge as well as a scalloped neck line which is just wonderful !

In the back of course the little dropsy seat is there with it's 3 little buttons holding it in place.

Inside the neckline there is a tag ...that reads

DIXKNIT 12 Trade Mark

These Cute little Long Underwear ...are in a Creamy off White ...and are in just Beautiful Condition ...There is a little foxing on the seat ..but with age that's to be expected and really lends to the charm.

They Measure:

29 inches from shoulder to leg

10inches wide across waist.

These would look just spectacular hung from an old clothesline display ..hung in an old fashioned laundry or bath ...

Antique Stockings / Socks

Don't you just love old Stockings ?? We sure do ..In fact ..Abbey has acused me of having an addiction for old stockings ...I'm always on the hunt for them when we go treasure tramping ..there's just something about them hung from an old peg rack in bunches that just makes me warm inside ...

So when I start offering up pairs here on the site ..you know I have gone overboard ..and am letting go of some of my collection.

This is a wonderful pair I am offering ..it is unused old store stock ..still with it's original label in place.

They are a creamy coffee color knit... and they are the nice long style which is always highly desireable .

~ Early Sawdust Pillow ~

A Sweet Magnolias Farm One of a Kind Design.

Here at Sweet Magnolias Farm ..we love the simple things ..the simple way of yesteryear and therefore we love to re-create that feeling in our Early Sawdust Pillows.

This Sawdust Pillow front an early photo from the late 1800's ..of a young boy standing in a garden in front of an old wood wheelbarrow ..with a hoe in his hand. He's dressed in overalls and a straw hat.

The pillow is made of hand aged muslin with sepia tones ..and filled with sawdust ..it has that wonderful soft rumply feeling and makes for a Great Display !

Rather you sit this piece on a favorite shelf with an old tin cup..Or an accent piece on a guest bed ...You can't go wrong ..it's a simple pleasure to be for sure !!

This lovely Sawdust Pillow ..measures: 9 inches in length x 6.50 inches wide.

~ Early Childs Gloves ~

Wow are these ever so sweet !!!

We can't say we have come across a pair of these in ages ...and we were so excited when we stumbled upon them ...

These little childs gloves are ever so tiny ..and measure in at a mere: 5 inches in length x 2 inches wide.

They are in a Creamy white Leather that is ever so soft ...and they are in just beautiful condition considering there age.

Each little glove has a snap on the back side that kept the glove taught on the childs hand ..Each of these snaps have the Brand of the gloves upon them which is Dents.

Inside one of the gloves it reads: Dent Allcroft and Co. London.

These little gloves are just a wonderful treasure ....They are perfectly suited to be displayed with an early pair of Baby shoes ..

antique red farmhouse doll bed and quilt

~Antique Farmhouse Doll Bed ~

This wonderful Antique Doll bed in it's Fabulous Original Red and Aqua blue chippy paint ..is positively stunning.

Here at Sweet Magnolias Farm we have a passion for taking early finds and creating Custom One of a Kind Pieces ...and that's just what we did with this Early Doll Bed.

Abbey's inspiration for this piece came from an authentic antique quilt that she found while traveling in the midwest many years ago. The quilt was topped with antique lace trims and embellishments ..as though it were all the treasures a lady long ago had ..and she did her best to make a quilt with them..Of all the quilts Abbey has attained over the years that is the most precious to her ..so she was inspired to create a doll quilt for this doll bed in the same fashion.

The Quilt is reversible ..on one side ..a wonderful light blue floral calico is the base ..and atop it are odds and end lace scraps...Making the top a little sampler... one scrap even makes a cross ..

On the opposite side ..a scrap of an early antique lace tablecloth makes the back ..and is a tied style quilt with little cream color ties throughout.

Below the quilt ..a sweet little handmade sheet peeks out..Made from an old towel and trimmed in antique crochet lace it is ever so sweet.

Yes the mattress is included and has been fashioned out of an authentic feather stuffed ticking pillow.

To top it all off you'll find a charming Matching reversible pillow that is sawdust stuffed with a lavender infusion.

Lastly to finish this sweet piece off we added a fabulous Antique Crochet trim to the bottom making up the Bed ruffle.

This Piece Has that wonderful Old Fashioned Charm ..and is a unique one of a Kind Antique with Custom Handmade Doll Bedding.

This Bed fits ..Vintage or vintage style Dolls or even is quite perfect for the Teddy Bear collector. And if you have a Cat and want a Unique Bed for it ..this is just Positively perfect for your furry friends as well !

Primitive Black Baby Shoes

Are these baby shoes just not the cutest !!! I don't know why ..but when we are out on our hunts for new items ..baby shoes always catch my eye.

Well this little pair really wrapped themselves around my heart ..for one thing they are black...and for the other ..they are tattered and worn to perfection !

I couldn't even bring myself to stuff them with paper or tie them up ...They are just so charming the way they are !

~ Antique Childs Tin Litho Cup ~

It seems here at the farmhouse ..even the old childrens pieces tug at our heart strings. There's just nothing like a sweet cup ..or little dress ..or pair of stockings that makes you reminisce about yesteryear and the child each piece belonged to.

This sweet early antique tin litho cup tugged at our heart strings and we bet it will yours too !

Dating to the late 1800's possibly early 1900's this decorative lithographed cup is positively sweet in it's multi-blue shades and decorative center design in gold, creams, reds and greens with antique flowers.

It would have been so delightful to find a whole matching set ..but that doesn't happen so often ..these single pieces ..have found their way through time ..and are for us to treasure by and by.

This cup has slight wear throughout ..but nothing that makes it undesireable ..just the opposite in fact ..it's all the more charming for it.

It measures a mere ..2.5 inches tall x 3 inches in diameter across it's rim.

Just perfect for that little nook on a shelf ..or to sit in your antique doll or teddy bears lap ..

Primitive High Button Baby Shoes

Ah ...Early Baby Shoes ..don't they just tug at your heart strings ..here at the farmhouse we just love these little bundles of sweetness and find ourselves grabbing them up whenever we can find a pair to add to our collection !

Farmhouse Romance

Anna May's Memory Keep

Our Farmhouse Memory Keeps are filled with timeworn and early heirloom pieces of yesteryear ...full of charm and grace to fill the home with good old fashioned comfort.

This sweet Memory Keep is made up of a vintage oval frame ..that had it's original blue paint chipped, tattered and distressed. We added an old chip board back ..which we topped with an old fashioned repro calico blue floral ..that is ever so charming.

We then embellished the inside of the frame ..with a gorgeous and authentic antique scalloped lace trim ..that we dotted with vintage pearls and topped with a twisted and frayed piece of ornsburg.

To the center ..we added an early teenie tiny matching china cup and saucer with a beautiful design. To the front of the cup we added an aged blue seam binding tie ..a vintage pearl and a pearl heart charm.

To each side of the Cup a Little silverplate Fork and spoon accompany it ..each one antique and dating to the early 1900's.

Below the cup and saucer ..a tiny piece of ornsburg with the name "Anna May" is written in .and a small oval picture beside it of a lovely little girl ...

The Memory Keep has a sawtooth hanger of the back ..for ease of hanging and the simple ornsburg tied top with vintage pearly jewelry embellishment at the top can easily be pinned up in place.

It measures: 14 inches wide x 10.5 inches long x 14.5 inches long with tied top.
